Dear Dr. Durff and Classmates,
I believe that this is the best course that I have taken in this entire time in this Master's Program for Instructional Technology. I really admire you Dr. Durff, if I could live up to half of an example you have been to us, that would be a blessing.
Dr. Durff has by far been one of the best instructors I have had in my back to school journey. This includes all the instructors I had while getting my bachelor's. She is extremely knowledgeable. I find myself wanting to do the assignments. Her feedback is so helpful and well thought out. She responds almost immediately to every question and email. Dr. Durff genuinely cares about her students and it shows even though it was an online course. Would love to have her as my instructor in the rest of my courses.
I truly have learned a lot on how to be a great coach and the best characteristics of a successful mentor and coach. With all of the references that you have given us, surely we should be able to set up our PLN. This information will never become obsolete, I will always be able to reach back and be a great coach. Thank you for allowing me/us to look you up and stay connected for our future journey. Thank you also for the inspiration of scriptures, it was always a blessing to be encouraged with God's word! Many blessings to always!
Thank you, Professor, for the extra guidance and suggestions for our upcoming assignments. I love how you take the time to reach out to us to make sure we understand and give us every opportunity to succeed!
Thank you Dr. Durff, I greatly appreciate all of your time in creating this video for us. It was above and beyond any expectations I had in starting this course. I have been a master’s student for over a year, and you are the first professor to provide this level of assistance. I look forward to learning with you in this course.
Dr. Durff, I have learned an abundance of knowledge from your class. I appreciate you using a multitude of strategies to be diverse in your teaching. You modeled each one through discussion giving us the opportunity to try new technologies. You actively kept us thinking, writing, comparing, and applying new knowledge. This allowed me to learn more easily. You gave me a rationale for what I was learning, and I understood why you had chosen certain instructional methods and learning activities. It is obvious you are passionate about your teaching and it overflows to your students.
Overall, this is the best class I have taken during this master’s program and I am very thankful for everything I learned and for Dr. Durff’s support and guidance through the process.
You’re a prime example of a phenomenal teacher who models positivity and radiates it through her classroom setting, despite being online.
Thank you so much for your engagement in the course! I started my Masters in July 2018 and you have been THE BEST already. You are very innovative. I also appreciate that you are setting the tone and expectations for the course right away. As a 4.0 student, I appreciate high standards, especially since we are educators.
Thank you for all you have done for this course! It’s been amazing!
Professor, I just wanted to Thank you so much for everything you have taught me in your class. I really enjoyed being a part of it!! I also want to thank you for being so understanding when I had to turn in assignments at a later time when I was feeling sick. You are an amazing teacher!!! I am so happy that I got to meet you!!! Thank you and have a wonderful evening! :)
You have been an amazing instructor these last six weeks. As online students at GCU, we were blessed to have been taught by you. You encouraged, inspired, and challenged us to be successful in this course. I appreciate all that you have done and I pray that God will continue to bless you and your family.
I would like to say thank you for teaching us and being extremely supportive throughout these past 6 weeks. I have learned so much throughout our journey together and wish everyone continued success and many blessings all the way to the finish line. The most important lesson that I have learned in this course is the importance of remaining positive while promoting learning in a manner that is catered to every individual student's academic needs.
I wanted to ask if you taught any other courses in GCU? If so, I would love to be in another one of your classes. I have learned so much from you and I admire how interactive you are with all your scholars.
This instructor was very knowledgeable about the information that she was delivering to the students. She was very responsive and graded are assignments quickly to get our grades back to us. She always let me know what I was doing right or wrong on an assignment so that I wouldn't make the same mistake again.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this course and greatly appreciate learning from an engaged professor.
Dr. Durff has been an amazing facilitator for this class. She is extremely active on the discussion boards, providing us with excellent research, and has made this course quite pleasurable. It is clear that she wants all of her students to be successful in everything they do and provides us with several different ways to receive additional support. By far, Dr. Durff has been the BEST facilitator throughout my entire experience at GCU. I wish more facilitators were like her as she truly knows what to do to create an active, engaging, and effective classroom environment.
Dr. Durff helped me succeed in this class. Her expertise and knowledge guided me through this course. She provides timely feedback and provides support when needed. I need one more class to finish the program here at GCU, and by far she has been the best professor I've had. She's very encouraging and motivating.
Dr. Durff is amazing. She is an excellent teacher. She differentiated with every task she asked of us. I was amazed at the amount of work she asks of her students, yet, she had me engaged and I wanted to do it. I knew anything she assigned I would learn from. Not from the material alone, but how she incorporates it through discussion, interactive games, videos, etc. I am very impressed and am blessed to have learned from her.
Professor Durff is by far the most engaged professor I have had at GCU and she brings a level of participation, experience, and demonstrated best practices that have been unmatched in any online course I have ever taken at any institution. She is proactive in her communications, thorough in her explanations and makes herself available in many ways and at many times. She is above and beyond the best ambassador for GCU that I have interacted with.
She was very interactive, supportive, and highly knowledgeable of the topics we focused on. She referred to additional scholarly research to support her points and expand our knowledge like no previous professor I have had. I VERY HIGHLY recommend her to anyone interested in learning about technology coaching.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with the highlights to this week’s content. I am very appreciative of the way you are introducing and reviewing each concept and how you have us engage and participate in the forums as well as other means of communication. I feel very supported as this is the first time throughout my experience at GCU, where an instructor is very involved. Your passion for teaching and connection is a breath of fresh air as I feel as though I am very well informed.
Dr. Durff is a professor that gives all her time for discussion. She also provides opportunities to get participation points. She gives creative feedback that professional growth as well. What I like about her, she's making the learning fun. I feel like I am in a classroom with her. We have fun in making picture collage of our loved ones, playing Kahoot. Everything is a learning experience. She's uses a lot of technology assisted learning.
Dr. Durff is an amazing online instructor. She was inspiring, encouraging, and challenging. She provided us with the necessary tools that we needed to be successful in this course. I am not one of the students who is tech savvy, but Dr. Durff introduced us to new platforms of technology that I am now getting acclimated to. I was very blessed to have this instructor for the last six weeks. I hope that our paths will cross again in my educational journey at Grand Canyon University.
Dr. Durff is patient and understanding. The classes and material was well planned and she challenged us to discuss and share using many different methods. Dr. Durff provided useful feedback and engaged in classroom instruction in meaningful ways. She provided
additional instructions for each assignment and a recap for the weekly goals/objectives. She provided many opportunities for participation in weekly discussions and challenged us to think and reflect deeply on practices.
Dr. Durff really cares about us, not only as a student but as a person. She made herself available for questions at all hours of the day. She is a really great instructor! I felt a connection to Dr. Durff and definitely got a sense that she wanted our class to be the best champions for the field of early childhood education that we could be. My personal life was very busy during this class and Dr. Durff was willing to work with me. I would like to have her as an instructor again, so that I can gain more insight into this subject and fully engage in the discussions...gaining more knowledge in the process!
I just wanted to send a quick message to thank you for sharing with us many new tools that I plan on using in my classroom and sharing with my colleagues. I learned a great amount in this class and appreciate how quickly you have been to respond to questions and offer guidance. I also appreciate all the different participation opportunities and enjoyed trying new things. Thank you for a wonderful learning experience.
I feel that professor Durff was very engaging and provided so much support. She was very active in the class which was very much appreciated.
Dr. Durff is absolutely AMAZING! Very knowledgable and helpful. She makes class fun and is very resourceful.
Dr. Durff is always available to answer questions and help. She is quick to grade assignments and give specific feedback. She is also great about posting many opportunities for participation credit.
Dr. Durff was extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent guidance throughout the course. I personally appreciated her helpfulness and how she went above and beyond to make sure we understood the assignments through video presentations, and other digital media tools.
I appreciated Dr. Durff's expertise, feedback, guidance, and questioning which pushed me to think further on certain topics. I also appreciated the exposure to and use of a variety of software apps and websites to earn participation points. Thank you, Dr. Durff!
Dr. Durff has really been a blessing in the course. She is always being supportive and available whenever you need to ask her a question. I love how she is always willing to go the extra mile when something is not understood. There needs to be more professors like Dr. Durff, since I started this grad school she has been by far the best professor I have had. I hope to have her again for a few more courses.
Thank you for this class. I feel like I have learned more from your class than any course I have taken at GCU. I love that you do not give us "busy" work, each assignment was to the point and meaningful I appreciate that. Your class was perfect timing for me personally, because you taught me about so many online platforms that I didn't know how to use, and this gave me a chance to use them right before my school had to go online. I have a very demanding parent community at the private school I teach at, and they wanted nothing less than the best ASAP. It has been incredibly stressful for our teachers and we are trying to meet the demands of the parents. I was able to be more comfortable with the transition because of your class and all the information and take aways I received. I also really loved the text book... I want to buy a physical copy of it. It has some really great information that I would love to have on hand. Thank you! I hope you stay well and safe too!
Dr. Durff was engaged and informative. She is one of the best professors I had.
Dr. Durff was engaging and provided lots of opportunities to learn and clearly understand the materials.
I wanted to thank you for a very enjoyable course! Your feedback was very useful, and I appreciated your thoughtful questioning related to our discussion questions. Related to that, thank you for offering a number of different prompts and ways for us to respond each week. In my previous courses, I have often gotten away with parroting or sharing my own previous experiences, but I've found it hard to offer questions to my peers or engage in a deeper way. This also made me consider how I can begin to create different ways for students to express what we learn and talk about in school. I wish this course came earlier in my program, but what I gained is still very beneficial and I can use what I've learned this school year and, as a student myself, in my final course. Thanks again and best wishes to you, your family, and students in the future!
Your take on our assignments is truly helpful. Your video messages and resources provide clarity on how to best approach and successfully complete our work. And I agree with everyone else who commented on your suggestions for digital tools. I have always used Word templates and I appreciate the various options you encourage us to use besides Word. I am also enjoying the personal connections you are fostering within our class. I have not experienced this in any other course.
Thank you very much for all the knowledge you shared with us throughout your course. It was a pleasure having you as my instructor.
